Craig C. Miller
Founder & Managing Member, CLM Consulting LLC
Craig C. Miller is a U.S. Army veteran and international operations, program-management, and quality professional with extensive experience supporting complex government, defense, aviation, logistics, facilities, and commercial operations.
His international perspective began during his military service, including overseas assignments with the U.S. Army, and continued throughout a civilian career supporting major programs and operations in the United States, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other international environments.
Craig's professional experience has been built in environments where organizational capability must be demonstrated rather than assumed — and where deficiencies in planning, documentation, supply chains, subcontractor performance, quality systems, or management controls can have significant operational and financial consequences.
Complex International Operations
Following his military service, Craig's civilian international career expanded significantly beginning in 2007 with assignments in Iraq and subsequently Afghanistan.
His work has encompassed base operations, logistics, facilities and O&M, life-support services, security coordination, airfield operations, procurement, supply chains, personnel accountability, contractor and subcontractor management, government property, quality assurance, and contingency operations.
That combination of military service and subsequent civilian experience in complex international environments has provided Craig with a practical understanding of accountability, operational discipline, organizational capability, and the challenges involved when multiple organizations must work together to accomplish a demanding objective.
Quality, Compliance & Verification
This foundation informs CLM Consulting's approach to due diligence — combining procedural rigour with practical operating experience to assess what is actually happening, not just what is documented.
Experience across Iraq and Afghanistan reinforced a consistent lesson: the gap between what is reported and what is actually occurring on the ground is often significant — and consequential.
Documentation reflects intent. Operations reflect reality.
Effective verification requires understanding both — and the experience to distinguish between them.
Government Contracting & Program Management
Craig's program management experience spans large, multi-stakeholder government contracts in complex operating environments.
- Multi-year, multi-hundred-million-dollar program oversight
- Contractor and subcontractor performance management
- Government property accountability and compliance
- Personnel accountability across large distributed workforces
- Procurement, supply chain, and logistics coordination
- Corrective action and quality assurance systems
This depth of program management experience provides the operational context that underpins CLM Consulting's approach to vendor assessment, due diligence, and commercial review.
CLM Consulting
CLM Consulting was established to bring genuine operational experience to the due diligence process — moving beyond document review to assess what is actually happening within a business, a supply chain, or an operational environment.
The firm focuses on commercial and operational due diligence, vendor and counterparty assessment, quality and operational review, and supplier identification — working independently of the transaction to provide clients with an accurate, unvarnished picture.
The objective is straightforward: give clients the information they need to verify, assess, and decide with confidence.
When everything is as represented, CLM's work confirms that — providing the assurance that supports a decision to proceed.
When concerns exist, CLM identifies them clearly, with enough operational context for the client to understand what they mean and what to do about them.
An Operational Perspective on Due Diligence
Most due diligence processes are designed to verify what a counterparty says about itself. CLM's approach is designed to assess whether that picture is accurate.
What documents show
Procedures, certifications, and representations — the formal record of how an organisation says it operates.
What operations reveal
Actual practices, workforce capability, supply chain resilience, and management effectiveness — assessed through direct engagement.
What gaps indicate
The distance between documented intent and operational reality — often the most important finding in any assessment.
What experience adds
The ability to recognise what matters, ask the right questions, and interpret findings in their operational context.
The most important question in any due diligence engagement is not whether the documents are in order.
It is whether the operation behind those documents will perform as represented — under real conditions, at scale, and over time.
That question requires operational experience to answer. It is the question CLM Consulting is built to address.
CLM Consulting was founded on the principle that effective due diligence requires more than document review — it requires the operational experience to know what to look for, and the independence to report it accurately.
Verify. Assess. Decide.
